Galić wines
The Galić family has been engaged in viticulture for generations, and they produced wines mainly for their own needs. The inherited love for wine, passed on to Josip Galić, grew into a serious business, which develops through the projects of the company Galić d.o.o.
Galić Vinarija is a modern winery for processing grapes, with an area of 60 acres of its own vineyards, with a production capacity of 330,000 litres. The winery has been at the top of the Croatian wine scene since its very beginnings, producing fresh and modern white and rosé wines, as well as aged red wines.
Graševina is the most represented sort in the vineyards and accounts for about 40% of the total production. Sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, rose and pinot noir varieties are also represented, and the specialties of the winery are the premium blends Crno 9 made of cabernet sauvignon and merlot and Bijelo 9, a blend of graševina, chardonnay and sauvignon blanc, whose names also feature the owner’s lucky number.
New Galić winery was opened on November 9, 2018 in Kutjevo. Many refer to it as a spaceship in winemaking.
The winery is located in the very centre of Kutjevo and its surface covers over 3300 square meters. The winery has large wooden barrels of 3300 litres, intended for aging wine, and barrels of 330 litres for the production of brandy, while concrete eggs and cones are used for the production of macerated wines.
All these numbers symbolize the owner’s tendencies towards the number nine, and all the numbers leading to the number nine.
