Volarević Vineyards
The Volarević wine story begins in 2005, driven by the passion and dedication of a father and his four sons, who already owned Rasadnik Prud, a successful and leading vine nursery in Croatia. They quickly established as one of the most renowned wineries in the country, successfully exporting their products to international markets including the United States, Singapore, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Switzerland, and Belgium.
Their vineyards are located on the southern part of the stunning Dalmatian coast, in the very heart of Komarna, the youngest wine region in Croatia. The soil was extremely rocky, requiring significant effort, machinery, and resources to make it cultivable. The process involved removing thick roots and large rocks rooted at depths of up to 60 cm to create optimal conditions for growing grapevines. The Komarna wine region boasts a distinctive terroir, particularly well-suited for cultivating native Croatian grape varieties such as Plavac Mali, Tribidrag (Crljenak Kaštelanski, Zinfandel), Pošip, and Maraština.
The winery itself is located in Metković and spans over 600 m². It features a modern cellar, a versatile area for wine presentations, workshops, and all other types of presentations, as well as an outdoor terrace area.
Within the winery, guests can enjoy a dedicated wine tasting area and a Wine Shop offering the full range of their wines.
